Abstract: The wind data for four locations in Garmyan zone were used to calculate the average wind speed and the potential of wind energy in some location of Garmyan zone. The locations are [Kirkuk(1981- 1990), Kalar (2003), Khanaqin (1988- 1997), and Touz (1991-2000)]. Monthly and annual wind speed, power and energy density at 10 meters and 50 meters above ground level calculated. The results are all shown in both tabulated and graphical forms. The mean monthly power exponent factor (α p) of the power law model also found. A full statistical analysis has been carried out for Kalar station which involved monthly and annual values of shape and scale parameters of Weibull distribution, the average speed frequency, Weibull distribution, speed distribution, and their cumulative duration in hours. It can be seen that the wind it is not suitable for electricity generation, but it is suitable for the applications in agriculture
