Abstract: Copper-nickel ferrites were synthesized by employing hydrothermal sol gel technique with general formula Ni1-xCuxFe2O4where x=0.0, 0.3 and 0.5. The pellets of 1.5 cm diameter were prepared with 2 mm thickness by applying pressure of 3 Tons and then sintering with different temperature (600, 700, 800 and 900) °C for further characterization. The main cubic spinal structure phase for all samples was confirmed by x-ray diffraction patterns The prepared specimens were characterized by XRD structural analysis indicates that the percentage of iron ions in B site increases, the intensity of the (311) peak increases. This indicates that the structural changes of the Ni1-xCuxFe2O4, arise from the shifting of ions between A and B sites. Atomic force microscopy showed that the average grain size was about 52.3nm. The morphology was studies using SEM and it is found that the grains had an irregular distribution and irregular shape. The Copper-nickel ferrite (Ni1-xCuxFe2O4) shows high σac conductivity due to dipole polarization. The dielectric constants of the sampleswere noticed to decrease with frequency and Cu addition and due to the different sintering temperatures.
