In this work tridentate Schiff base was prepared from the reaction of 4-amino-2,3- dimethyl-1-phenyl-3-pyrazolin-5-one with isatin. The product (L) was characterized by (FTIR), (UV-Vis) spectroscopy and elemental analysis (C.H.N). (L) has been used as a ligand to prepare number of metal complexes with Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II). The prepared complexes were isolated, characterized and their structural geometries were suggested by using elemental analysis (C.H.N), flame atomic absorption technique, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, in additional to magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements, metal to ligand [M:L] ratio was obtained for all complexes in ethanol using molar ratio method, which gave comparable results with those obtained for the solid complexes.en_US
