Abstract: In this research we will discuss the imprecise distribution problem of the Arabic characters on keyboards. We suggest a new Arabic-based coding scheme instead of ASCII with a new bilingual keyboard suitable for it. The number of keys in the proposed keyboard is reduced to increase the speed of input characters. The proposed keyboard is designed to be used with single hand. The second hand maybe used for supporting to press the control keys only. The suggested Arabic-based coding scheme is compressed so that each character with its vowel point is stored in single byte instead of two bytes using ASCII. In other words, we reduce the capacity needed to store the Arabic text to the half of the capacity required using ASC
