dc.description.abstractThe effect of the substituent on the rate of reduction of PX ArTeCl3 (X=H, OH, OCH3, OC2H5) has been investigated kinetically. The reduction obeys a second order rate law and hammett equation, it is a first order in each of the oxidizing and reducing agents. The rate and δP Values of the reaction have been determined. It is found that the rate of reduction increases in the order, H<<OH<OCH3<OC2H5. The pathes of the reaction mechanism is affected largely by the substituent,s inductive effect.en_US
